My Beboon Detox Program

DAY 1

It’s Day 1 of my Beboon Detox program and I’m so excited to start! I can’t wait to see what food comes prepared in my Beboon Box.

Breakfast:

The day starts with 3 glasses of hot water with lemon. I’m a freak so I had 4 (Ugh).

I’m not allowed to have coffee and I’m freaking out already. I drive to HOM and open my day 1 box. Soup, salad, chocolate covered almonds and veggies, it looks good! First activity of the day is a Pilates class! After the class I drink a green shake as my reward. It’s not delicious, but drinkable.

Lunch:

My lunch consists of a tasty green soup with a side salad drizzled with Balsamic dressing. I am actually full and feeling good! I’m also make sure to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water.

By 2 pm I’m starving, which is strange because I’m never hungry at this time. I curb the hunger by eating a giant grapefruit. On my drive home from work I discover the chocolate almond goody bag in the box. There’s only 6 of them, but I savored them slowly. Yumm, this is definitely a treat! We’re also given a pack of red salts to place under tongue when you have a headache. They’re actually really helpful! 

Dinner:

That evening I went to a restaurant with my husband, I wanted to die, I was so hungry! I stuck with my detox and happily ate my soup and veggies at the restaurant. I quickly discovered everything tastes better on china wear and at a restaurant! After dinner I’m feeling happy again.

I end my day with tea before bed time. It was an exhausting first day! I was in bed by 9pm and I slept great. I’m ready to take on day 2 of my detox challenge!

DAY 2

Morning:

I wake up next morning to find I lost 3 lbs! I’m feeling pumped. I drink my 4 glasses of hot water with lemon (remember, they only asked for 3 but I’m crazy like that.)

I go to HOM and see Beboon has delivered my day 2 food box and I’m excited to see what’s in store. I open it and decide today I’ll save my shake for after Pilates. I tell my pilates instructor Sabrina to go easy on me since I’m in detox, she laughs and still beats me up!

Today, I had a red shake made of what tastes like beets and carrots. I’m also staying diligent and continually drinking water. This time we’re supposed to add chia seeds to our water. It was very weird and kept getting stuck to my teeth.

Lunch:

I worked at the office, then went home early. I was feeling very sluggish. I had lunch at home and savored every morsel. I finished a healthy helping of soup and broccoli veggies. The meal was delicious and very filling!

After lunch I was back on the road to attend meetings, feeling good and energized! In case I got hungry I packed myself a snack if an apple and my chocolate almonds. I was hungry 2 hrs later, so I ate my apple. To curb any hunger pains I put a little salt under my tongue and was feeling good again in no time!

Dinner:

The Detox continues with dinner time at our home. I heated up my soup along with some green beans. I served myself again on fine China, sat back with my huge glass of water and enjoyed my meal mindfully. The green beans are delicious! You could taste  the olive oil and the seasoning was fantastic.

I was feeling fully satisfied after dinner. I made myself a cup of tea and watched some TV.  As expected, I was hungry two hours later and I had only two almonds left. I ate those delicious chocolate covered almonds, which probably aren’t actually chocolate (I think I’m being tricked), but that’s OK they taste great to me!

DAY 3

Morning:

Day 3 was the best day! My body is starting to adapt. I’m eating slower and enjoying my food more. I savor every spice. I’ve never really felt this way. This is what mindful eating is all about! I get it now. I finally made it! I’m feeling very light this morning, so the first thing I did was run to my scale and weigh myself. Disappointedly, I did not lose anymore weight, but that’s wasn’t the reason for this detox. The goal is to cleanse my body. So, I went through my usual routine of drinking four glasses of water with lemon, followed by a cup of hot tea. I have to say that this is probably the most difficult part of the detox.

Following, I went on to The House of Movement and did not work out today. Meetings after meetings prevented me from working out, but I felt good. I open my food box at the House of Movement to find another shake for breakfast. It’s not very pleasant tasting, but I drink it anyways.

Lunch:

At lunchtime I ate my salad since I was unable to heat up my soup. The salad had a nutty dressing, very tasty but not completely satisfying. I was still hungry so I kept putting salt under my tongue. I finished the rest of my lunch at home around 3pm. This soup was by far one of the most delicious soups I’ve ever had in my life! It was some sort of red curry soup with onions, red peppers and shiitake mushrooms. It was very tasty and spicy! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I’m happy once again and anticipating dinner.

I wish I could have a glass of wine, but I’m not allowed to and it is recommended that for the next three days you stay away from any kind of alcoholic beverages. I received the list of foods to eat for the next three days because today is the last day of food supplied by Beboon. They recommend that I eat a lot of cilantro, lemon, avocado and lots of greens such as broccoli. They also recommend to only have one protein type daily. So far I feel great, I feel lighter, cleaner and overall wonderful! Dinner is yet to come and I can’t wait to weigh myself in the morning!

Dinner:

When dinner time arrives I serve my family’s dinner and I heat up my soup and vegetables in fine china to make it more special. I find that doing this really makes all the difference. Today’s vegetables are different they are some type of root (perhaps rutabaga) that comes seasoned with cinnamon and pumpkin seeds. The soup is delicious, as all the soups have been. This one has delicious bites of avocado inside. I make sure to eat slowly, enjoying every bite.

After I finish my meal, I’m feeling very full and satisfied. I make myself a cup of tea and sit down to relax and read a book, The Power of Now! I recall that I just started this book and it’s telling me to live in the present. Coincidental? Perhaps. I have been eating in the present– mindfully appreciating all my meals, as if that was all that mattered at that moment.

Today I also received my list of what foods to eat and what to avoid. I shouldn’t eat ham and cheese (my favorites) breads, pastas and cereals. This is going to be very hard, but I feeling great! Another tiring day, I’m in bed by 10pm.

POST DETOX

Morning:

I wake up with a headache and a hunger pang. Oddly enough, it feels good. I weigh myself because I look and feel so much lighter, only to realize I weigh the same. I lost 3 lbs throughout the entire process. This fact bothers me a bit, but I have to remember this was not my goal. The goal was to cleanse my body.

So I start my day with 4 glasses of hot lemon water then a hot tea. I’m seriously debating with myself whether or not to have coffee. After eating clean and feeling so healthy, I don’t want to contaminate my body. I can’t believe this feeling. It’s probably crazy, but it feels good and it is good!!!

Thank you Beboon Detox for this great experience. Today,  I have a Pilates class with my personal trainer Sabrina at 10am and a colonics at 2 pm. The cleansing will be complete with the colonics, since it is recommended to have 3 colonics to thoroughly cleanse the large intestine. After this whole experience I will be clean from the inside out!
